John "Jack" Nugent, Jr. has for twenty years represented clients at the federal and local levels. Mr. Nugent has worked for large and small American corporations, municipalities, contractors with Federal and State governments and foreign companies and governments.
Mr. Nugent began representing clients before the U.S. Congress and executive branch in 1976 when he joined Timmons and Company, Inc. Following almost ten years with Timmons and Company, he helped to establish Global USA, Inc. a government relations firm.
From 1975 to 1976 Mr. Nugent served as Special Assistant for Congressional Affairs to the Administrator of the Federal Energy Administration (forerunner of the U.S. Department of Energy). His tenure at FEA saw the nation through the oil embargo and the passage by Congress of many existing Federal energy, resource and environmental laws.
Mr. Nugent, from 1972 to 1974 was the Director of the Energy and National Resources Committee of the Republican Conference of the U.S. House of Representatives where he advised Members of Congress on energy issues.
In the early 1970's, Mr. Nugent served as a staff intelligence officer (U.S. Army) for Middle East Capabilities assigned to the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency.
Mr. Nugent received his Bachelor of Arts from Norwich University and subsequently undertook graduate studies at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon.
